Jabra Elite 7 Pro & Active are comfy, suit diverse ears, offer good sound (EQ adjustments help), clear mics for calls, even for deeper tones. (We realized that loud sounds can sound grainy, which could be due to microphone sensitivity or background noise reduction software.) When we first tested it, we had some concerns about spotty connectivity and the effectiveness of ANC audio. After the summer 2023 firmware update, we tested it again to see if the changes resulted in better performance. The update seems to have resolved the call choppiness that affected our initial testing phase, improving call quality.

Like most Bluetooth headphones, dual-device connection remains tricky, particularly for video conferencing with apps like Zoom, Google Meet, and Teams. Adjusting the settings of these apps can resolve many problems, but it’s still frustrating and worth noting. Noise cancellation, while slightly improved after the firmware update, still falls short of what we expected for the price.

Elite 7 Pro Compact Size with Advanced Tech

Elite 7 Pros are 16% smaller than Elite 75t, housing MultiSensor Voice tech, bone conduction, 4 mics, and advanced algorithms for revolutionary call quality. Jabra says. Voice call performance disappoints, but firmware updates enhance multipoint pairing, sound quality, noise cancellation, and overall performance of the headset. It took a while, but now they’re gorgeous buds everywhere.

These devices have adjustable active noise cancellation, Jabra’s HearThrough transparency mode, and Bluetooth 5.2. When noise cancellation is on and volume is moderate, they provide up to nine hours of playback, plus three charges from the case, totaling around 35 hours of battery life. The charging case has wireless charging capability.

The headphones’ IP57 rating allows them to be submerged in up to 1 meter of water. Mono mode lets single-button users operate one button separately, catering to those who prefer using a single button.

Protection and Performance

Active version stands out: slightly lower price, rubberized button coating enhances security during vigorous workouts, distinguishing it from the Pro. It’s also IP57 rated, which means it’s dust and water-resistant up to one meter, so sweaty workouts won’t be a problem either.

You may want to make some adjustments when it comes to the audio file. Out of the box, sound shows clipping: immersive power with occasional static in lows, crisp highs, reducing range clarity by half. However, the five bad equalizers in the app mean you can adjust the sound to your liking.

Another favorite: Beats Powerbeats (8/10), 15-hour battery life, on-ear design, and appealing aesthetics make them stand out.
